New hair!

I've been itching to get on the ombré trend for months, but held back because lots of people said it wouldn't suit me, blah blah. I decided I would treat myself after exams and just go for it! Couldn't look that bad, huh! I actually am really pleased how it turned out. I would like the ends to be blonder, but am going to let them rest for a little while. In a couple months I think I'll get a hair cut and redo it for summer :) the photos are filtered so it looks slightly different in person, but I am glad to have a bit of pep in my hair :D love love love xxx

night out round up #4

hey!

Sorry, it has been a while. My exams are finally finished now, yay! We celebrated on Thursday in lots of ways. The girls went to Nandos for lunch and a catch up, before doing a spot of shopping. I bought a bra for £3 and a scarf-turned-snood for £2, both from H&M - bargain! We then had a nice face mask pamper session before getting ready for a crazy night out...

I got given a dirty (alcoholic only) pint to do, but it was so utterly vile that I could only manage half, boo. I think it made me feel sick all evening because I ended up going home early, just wasn't having fun any more! From what I can remember it was such a good night though :)

I bought an ombre kit which we did on my hair last night. It didn't go as well as planned (the ends just went a bit gingery) so I'm going to try again on Monday with a blonde dye; Megan vouches for it so hopefully it will go better! I will put some pics up if it looks nice. Anyway, we are hosting a house party tonight, so I'm off to eat potato wedges (my new favourite thing) and get ready, yay!

Hope all your exams are long gone, and we can now get back to the important things in life ;)

it's like narnia!!

hiya :)

Like most of the UK today, I woke up to a gorgeous white blanket of snow covering Cardiff today.  I always revert to an overexcited child when I see snow, and just want to get dressed and out and play in it! I gently persuaded Matthew to get up around 10 and we were out walking around the gorgeous Bute Park by 11 :)

Of course, the first thing we did was make a snowman! There were lots of people about doing the same but naturally I am biased towards ours being the best! The pictures say it all really...

Isn't it just so beautiful? It got pretty chilly after a while so we trekked home and went to my social centre to get breakfast - maple syrup and bacon pancakes, mmm!

How have you spent the day, in the snow having lots of fun or cuddled up in the warm with your loved ones?

Shopping, eating pizza and cinema :)

hello!

Today has been a busy busy day! I had my hardest exam, and it was hard. Ha. Well actually, the essay questions given at the beginning were okay! I was surprised, to the point where I actually wanted to answer all the essay questions rather than do the short answer ones :( The short answer questions weren't as nice, but I knew they were never going to be. Some I had absolutely no clue, I mean what is the Loch Ness after effect?! There were a few I struggled with, but I managed to write something for every question and even if I haven't got full marks on any I'm hoping to have done enough to pass, fingers crossed.

To celebrate, Matthew took me to Pizza Express for lunch, yummy. They are doing a 40% off offer for the whole of January so it was the perfect excuse to go, and makes the whole thing a very affordable luxury lunch! We pottered round town for a little while; I was desperate to go to the Boots sale as it has all now been reduced to 75% off, but there was literally hardly anything left. I swear people turn into savages when they hear the words "sale" and "75% off" because people were snatching stuff out of the hands of the poor staff trying to unpack the delivery. AND, they weren't just taking one, or even two. They were snatching like 5 of some of the box sets, which is so unfair! I managed to get my hand on this cute beauty hut set, with a shower cream, body butter, body spray, puffer and cute shower cap in. For £2.50, it was an absolute bargain so that satisfied my sale craving.

After lunch we went to see Les Miserables, after much excitement and anticipation. I have been desperate to see this film for ages, even though it came out like last week! The case and adverts made it look incredible! It was definitely a good film, I am going to write more about it underneath a break, as it will contain spoilers...

surprise care package!

hello lovelies..

As you probably know, I am overwhelmed by poopy revision at the moment. I had my first exam on Monday, stats, and I think I passed but probably haven't got the 2:1 I was desperate for. At least that one is over! My hardest exam is tomorrow, and I have never felt so worried about failing in my life. Matthew came over last night with a revision care package for me, it was super cute.

It included a good luck card, apple juice (my favourite), krispy kremes, lots of hot chocolate, energy tablets, tic tacs, love hearts and those cool llama snacks! It was a lovely gesture. Our relationship has hard an extremely hard time lately, but we are both working hard to try and rebuild what we have and move on. I'm not sure how that's gonna turn out, yet, but just trying to take each day as it comes, for now.

I suppose I better get back to revision! It sure won't do itself...

coffee shop chats

hiya! how are you?

I met up with one of my oldest besties, Mimi today. I have seen a fair amount of her over the holidays, and it has been lovely catching up. Mimi has been there for me through a lot of things in my life and I don't honestly know what I would do without her!

We met up for lunch in a charming cafe in the not so nice Shirley High Street. To be quite honest, it doesn't fit in at all with the abundance of charity shops, banks and polish supermarkets! But it is a little gem and makes you forget you are in grey, drizzily Shirley for a small while.

Mimi is incredibly lucky as she is visiting the states in the summer for 3 weeks, three!! I'm insanely jealous as ever since my family went when I was 7 I have been itching to go back. It's got me thinking about my future. When I finish uni, I would love to have saved enough money to go out to the USA with my boy for at least 3 weeks. I want to see New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, California, Boston, Las Vegas, Chicago and Florida.

Of course, I imagine Florida would be a trip in itself. I know for definite that when I have children, I want to take them to the magic of disney because it really is a once in a lifetime experience. So, I think that if (and hopefully when!) myself and Matthew go, we will see all the sights of the big places such as NYC, maaaaybe spend a few days in disney and do anywhere decent on the east coast! I am so uneducated in the states/places in America, all I know is that I want to see as much as possible!

Ideally, there would be three trips - east coast, west coast and disney. Then again, I would love to go to disney without children, to experience the magic again for myself without having to run around with baby wipes and suncream! So maybe 3 trips are still in order, with an east coast/disney trip combined, a west coast trip and then a disney trip when I have little babies of my own to enjoy.

Whatever happens, it is going to take so much money, and so much planning! But it has definitely got me thinking. And dreaming. And going to buy a lottery ticket...

night out round up #3

Hey you, happy new year!

It's been a crazy few days with definitely not enough revision taking place. I went with my girl Alexis to a new years party and got absolutely steaming on 2 bottles of wine, yes 2. I can safely say I have never ever been so hungover in my life and the aftermath stretched over 3 whole days. That will teach me for drinking too much I'm sure...

The party was good, it was fancy dress but us being so indecisive couldn't think of anything good to go as so naturally just didn't bother dressing up! It's much easier when there is some sort of theme, like geeks or disney characters or something so you have some idea but when it's so vague it's hard to come up with something good, without spending a fortune! I had a really nice night, seeing in new year with my bestest and some of the other girls and boys. It was a shame I didn't get to spend it with Matthew as I have spent every new year since we have been together with him, but things didn't work out that way this year. I am seeing him in 3 days though, yay.

I got coerced into going out again last night, even though I was still hanging, because it was the last night out for a few months with the Southampton lot. I went, and barely drank anything, and actually had a decent night. I managed to stay out until 2am which is quite impressive being sober. Some people were more drunk than others... hilarious!

Anyway, I won't be going on a night out now until the 24th January because I have the dreaded exams looming, and cannot afford to take any time out to party party. Boo. I'm sure there will be a couple cheeky blog posts here and there though!
